The European Union and the United States have reached a landmark trade agreement aimed at strengthening economic and strategic cooperation.
Former President Donald Trump announced key details of the deal, stating that the EU has committed to purchasing hundreds of billions of dollars’ worth of U.S. military equipment and making $600 billion in investments across various sectors in the United States. Additionally, the EU will increase its imports of American energy, with a $150 billion commitment.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen hailed the agreement as a step toward greater stability in transatlantic relations. She also confirmed the implementation of a uniform 15% tariff across the board as part of the deal.
The agreement marks a significant deepening of economic ties between the two allies amid global geopolitical shifts.
