Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, issued a public apology to U.S. President Donald Trump for inflammatory remarks made on social media. “I regret some of my posts about the president last week. They went too far,” Musk wrote on X, without specifying which statements he meant. The feud erupted over a tax relief bill, projected by economists to widen the U.S. budget deficit by $600 billion. Trump hailed the bill as “big and beautiful,” while Musk slammed it as a “disgusting perversion.”

The dispute escalated on June 5 when Musk claimed Trump was linked to financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was investigated for trafficking minors to a private island where they were allegedly abused by prominent figures. Musk suggested Trump’s involvement was why related documents remained unreleased, but later deleted the post. He also claimed Trump “wouldn’t have won the election” without his support and backed calls to impeach Trump in favor of Vice President JD Vance.
