The strike occurred about 70 km from the Polish border. Monitoring sources indicate the nuclear-capable Oreshnik, possibly with MIRVs, was launched from Russia’s Kapustin Yar range. Ukrainian air defenses cannot currently intercept it.
The attack followed a nationwide air alert and came a day after Russian strikes on Kryvyi Rih that killed at least one civilian.
Ukrainian officials have not officially confirmed the missile type; the incident remains under investigation.
