U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent said that President Trump is very unhappy with the slow pace of peace talks to end the war in Ukraine. The U.S. is expected to announce new sanctions later on Wednesday afternoon (local time) or Thursday morning. According to Bessent, these sanctions will be among the toughest since the conflict began.
Earlier, Donald Trump said he does not plan to impose tariffs on China for buying Russian oil, as he does not want to harm the ongoing talks with Beijing.
Also, EU diplomats agreed this evening on the 19th package of sanctions against Russia.
